List of Languages
The News API provides a set of languages that you can use to filter news articles.
Articles are always delivered in their original language. Non-English articles additionally carry an English machine translation of their title and description in the translations block, covering 48 source languages — the original fields are left untouched, and the article body is not translated.
Two codes in the table are worth knowing about before you rely on them:
by— Belarusian. This is APITube's own identifier, not the ISO 639-1 one. The standard codebeis not accepted and returns400 ER0237. The language currently matches no articles.un— undetermined. A placeholder for articles whose language could not be detected; it also matches no articles today.
Coverage is otherwise very uneven: English, Italian, Spanish and German each match millions of articles, while Yiddish, Maltese and Irish match tens to hundreds. Check the volume with /v1/news/count before building a feed around a rare language.
