Directories

Find profiles of people, companies and journalists. Each profile includes background information, a coverage summary of their news coverage and recent articles.

The three directories

Directory	Endpoints	Contains
People	GET /v1/people · GET /v1/people/{id}	Public figures — politicians, executives, other known persons.
Companies	GET /v1/companies · GET /v1/companies/{id}	Organizations and brands, with headquarters, founding date, website, key people and subsidiaries.
Journalists	GET /v1/journalists · GET /v1/journalists/{id}	Journalist profiles that group articles with the same author name and list the publishing outlets in outlets.

Use a list endpoint to search profiles. Use its {id} endpoint to get a full profile.

Directories vs. entity search

Choose based on the information you need:

• /v1/news/entity/{entity_id} returns articles mentioning the entity — a feed you page through.
• A directory profile returns the entity — who they are, how much coverage they get, which outlets and topics dominate it, plus a handful of recent articles.

Use a directory to build a profile page. Use the entity endpoint to browse all articles about that person or company.

Billing

A directory request costs 1 point when it returns results. Searches with no results are free. If you have no points left, the API returns 402. See Balance and usage.
