Using News API with AI

Ask Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT for news in plain language. Connect your assistant to APITube to search articles from 300,000+ sources with the filters you need.

Choose how you want to connect below.

Start here

  • Natural Language Search — send a plain-language sentence in the prompt parameter and the API builds the filters itself. One HTTP call, no assistant required. Available on Basic and above.
  • MCP Server — connect any MCP-compatible assistant to the hosted server at https://mcp.apitube.io/. No install, just an API key.
  • Code Editors Setup — copy-paste configs for Cursor, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, VS Code, and Windsurf.
  • Agent Skills — discoverable skills published under /.well-known/ for agents to find and use the API on their own.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets AI assistants use external tools. With the APITube MCP server, you can ask "find positive breaking news about Tesla in English" and get matching articles without writing a request.

See MCP Server to connect in a minute.

The same question can be answered without an assistant at all: pass it to the prompt parameter and the API does the translation server-side, returning the filters it chose in meta.prompt. See Natural Language Search.

AI-friendly data

Article responses include fields your assistant can use to filter and summarise news:

  • Sentiment — positive / negative / neutral scores at the title, body, and overall level.
  • Entities — people, organizations, locations, brands, and products extracted per article.
  • Categories & topics — IPTC categories and topic tags for precise filtering.
  • Readability — reading time and word/sentence counts.

Use these fields to build news summaries, answer questions with article references or monitor a subject. See the sentiment and entity examples.
